OUR ANCESTORS’ GRAVESITES
(YEE BEW WOO and Descendants)

Remembering our ancestors sometimes is not easy; it may be inconvenient, time consuming, and even uncomfortable.  Yet, we should take the time once every so often to remember them, and recognize that they paved the way for us to be here, allowing us to live the lives that we do.  Let us not allow our WOO FAMILY ancestors to be forgotten.

Apo’s headstone it beginning to tilt.  It can be easily righted with some stones strategically placed underneath.

Aunty Vic’s grave has some cracks in it that need to be filled with dirt.  Do not stand on it when visiting; it may collapse.

PETER WOO
Oahu Cemetery, opposite 2162 Nuuanu Avenue, Honolulu, HI

Directions:  Entrance is at the HVB King Kamehameha visitors’ sign on right side of Nuuanu Avenue going mauka.  Walk in the gate, immediately turn right and walk down the path (going toward the ocean), until you reach the last water faucet.  Peter’s grave is immediately to the right of the water faucet, along the Nuuanu Avenue wall.

Peter’s headstone is very worn, and has Chinese characters written on it.  Perhaps someone can interpret the wording and let us know what it says?
